Exactly one decade after the first successful project, O-PORT-UNIDADE will be launched again.
The aim is to produce another astonishing Port to follow the footsteps of the O-PORT-UNIDADE Vintage Port 2013.

THE STORY

This Port will be trodden by one VIP of the participating houses. The profit will be donated again to Bagos d’Ouro, a charity organization, which supports underprivileged children and youngsters in the Douro Valley. Niepoort was so kind to host this project, which is organized by World of Port. The name O-PORT-UNIDADE should express the unity of the Port Houses to manufacture a special Port and the opportunity (port. oportunidade) to support charity in the Douro Valley.

200.000 Euro

of charity money is the aim for this 2nd edition of this project. After 100.000 Euro 10 years ago, we are very optimistic to achieve this

32 Houses

The number of participating houses donating their Port-grapes for this project. This reflects the whole Douro Valley and almost all premium producers.

22nd September

is event day. Everyone will seize harvesting and join the treading and party afterwards. This is exactly the same day as in 2013.

94 Parker Points

The first Vintage Port was highly received by the leading wine critiques around the world. And we also have some Colheita awaiting in the pipas…

THE PORT

The Port represents the whole Douro Valley as the grapes originate from all different parts. In 2013 the average age of the vines was more than 35 years of age.
